Package: Pack according to your choice (1 piece or 1 set of 2). Pls choose from the color options.
Description:
Material: DC53 Cold-work Die Steel
DC53 Cold-work Die Steel is especially used in punch mold making. This chisel is hard, with high tenacity and great anti-rust properties. We adopt this kind of steel to make sure our chisel is of the best quality; meanwhile, it can indeed "serve" better in your craft projects.
Type: Obverse and reverse direction
Chisels have obverse prongs or reverse prongs. When you look down the holes punched by the obverse chisel, from left to right, the hole goes“up”. Holes punched by a reverse chisel, from left to right, go “down”. This is to meet the higher need for punching and stitching. Furthermore, with these two kinds of direction, you can punch a hole on both sides of leather.

Sizes: Prongs are 9.8 mm long. This sharp punch can easily go through a thickness of 4.5 mm or 11 oz leather. (5.0mm or 12.5 oz theoretically).
Model 7 (3.85 mm prong spacing), with 2 standards: one with 2 prongs, the other with 8 prongs.Prong width: 2.4 mm.
Model 8 (3.38 mm prong spacing), with 2 standards: one with 2 prongs, the other with 8 prongs.Prong width: 2.2 mm.
Model 9 (3.0 mm prong spacing), with 2 standards: one with 2 prongs, the other with 5 prongs.Prong width: 1.8 mm.
Model 10 (2.7 mm prong-spacing), with 2 standards, one with 2 prongs, the other with 5 prongs.Prong width: 1.6 mm.
1 prong-S: fits Model 9 and Model 10; both obverse and reverse directions are common.
1 prong-M: fits Model 7 and Model 8; both obverse and reverse directions are common.
Dimensions: Overall length: 116 mm, Handle width: 13 mm, Handle thickness: 8.2 mm, Prong length: 9.8 mm, Prong lip thickness: 0.2mm.
Process: Entirely polished, from handle to prongs; it helps you pull out leather more easily. Gorgeous design and handy shape. The stitching hole shape is almost as perfect as Blanchard's.
Features:
We have been working hard on building a high-quality leather chisel since the first day we established WUTA. Our chisels were sent to various leathercraft studios for testing by master craftsmen. Mostly, we received positive feedback. After overcoming all these difficulties, our original design chisel is now officially in the public eye.
Why choose our chisel? Here are a few reasons.
Use Notice:
1. Because of the sharp and thin tip, please don't overexert when punching. Please use soft materials like leather to protect it. It may be damaged if you use it on a hard object such as a cutting mat, especially in winter.
2. To extend the service life of the French-style chisel, we don't recommend punching more than 3mm-thick leather directly. When you punch more than 3 mm-thick leather, please punch separately in the obverse and reverse directions. Please pull straight out; don't pry on both sides. Thanks.
3.DC53 Cold-work Die Steel has great anti-rust properties. But that doesn't mean it will not rust at all. We suggest applying a little anti-rust oil when you don't use it for a long time.
About WUTA: We are committed to providing high-quality tools to leather crafters worldwide. Also, our sources come from all around the world. International Shipping is available.
Optimized punching & Advanced technology
The punching principle is based on the blunt-tooth design with a non-sharp blade. It punches leather holes through the extrusion of the tooth end, and the expansion of the six-sided conical tooth body assists in maintaining a rounded cutting edge, reducing the friction of the stitching line, and effectively preventing the thread from being worn and fluffed too quickly, and the "pulling" phenomenon, which is more conducive to sewing beautiful double wave stitches.

Correct use of the product and precautions

Use the Obverse & Reverse direction chisel to punch thick leather.
When you punch more than 3mm thick leather, please punch separately with the obverse and reverse direction to ensure beautiful stitches. And please pull straight out; don't pry to both sides. Thanks.
1/2 prong punching at the corner or short distances.
5-20 prong punching for short/long straight lines. When punching, two holes are retracted to prevent deviation.
