Features

🌟Massive punch for easy creation of oval holes in leather to accommodate the prong of a buckle. Extra-sharp, with a long handle for a secure, comfortable grip. Available in 25 sizes.

🌟This heavy-duty oblong hole punch is of good quality. Very nicely made with a comfortable handle, and it makes nice, smooth, clean holes every time! I recommend this product to anyone who works with leather and needs a good oblong hole punch for their belt straps.

🌟Internal punch features an inside taper for clearance. The punches are heat-treated forged steel, ensuring long-lasting performance.  Due to this heat treatment, the cutting edge will remain sharper longer.

🌟The punch works on leather, rubber, canvas, plastic, sheet metal, gasket material, cardboard, and softer metals.

Used Tips

Perpendicular to the leather surface, tap it lightly, and then force it until it penetrates
If the leather doesn't penetrate, keep hitting until it penetrates. the size is more than 10mm length, because the cutting area is relatively large. In addition, for durability, the blades of large-sizedpunches are usually made thick, so the large-sized one will feel duller. Please use more force to knock. If the force is small, you need to knock two or three times more.

Black electroplating on the surface

With strong anti-rust performance and wear resistance, sturdy, and comfortable to the hand, suitable for intensive stamping and long-term leatherworking craft.

How to sharpen an oblong punch?

As with knives, the blade of an oblong punch will wear out over time and needs to be sharpened to restore its sharpness. The large-sized oblong punches will feel duller when punching because of the increased force area and increased resistance. You can also sharpen it before use to increase its sharpness. Please gently pull the puncher blade back against the sandpaper surface for more than 10times, and use 1000-2000 and a knife sharpener with polishing paste, and polish in sequence.

Note

1. There may be a slight error between the puncher size and the actual punching hole size, which is related to the leather thickness. The punching hole size will not be very accurate.

2. The blade is sharp and should be protected when using it. Do not punch on hard objects such as hard rubber boards and wooden boards, which will damage the blade. It is recommended to use a 4- 5 cm thick marble tabletop with a WUTA thickened cutting mat, which is quiet and stable, effectively protects the blade, and is not disturbed by the elasticity of the light desktop.

3. As the force area increases, the resistance also increases. This is why large-sized punches are not as sharp as small-sized punches. It is not a quality problem. Before punching, you can use sandpaper to polish it to increase the sharpness (the punch also needs to be polished after the blade is worn out after long-term use).

4. There will inevitably be slight rust and flaws on the surface of the punch, which will not affect the use. The rusted part can be restored by grinding with sandpaper.

6. The surface of the punch is coated with a layer of engine oil to prevent rust. Just wipe it with a cotton cloth before use. You can also apply a layer of engine oil after use for maintenance to delay rust.
